Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his sheep. Devastated, he went back to the town only to receive a scolding on honesty and the results of crying wolf.

The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it highlights how trust once violated, is difficult to earn back. It's a story as pertinent today as it was anciently.
